Alan Titchmarsh’s new friday night gardening programme ‘LOVE YOUR GARDEN’ featured Deckchairstripes Bunting and Deckchair covered in Waltzing Vintage Deckchair Canvas in the Seaside Garden episode on the 16th Sept on ITV.
If you missed it you can watch it on ITV Player – our products are featured in part 2 after the break when he transforms a first floor flat roof viewing platform.
Our long awaited Gardening Gloves have arrived – available in 2 styles, short garden gloves and long rose garden gloves. They are made with premium quality leather with our signature Quickstep stripe in heavy cotton on the backs.
Shown here are our Long Rose Gardening Gloves for women. The longer length gauntlet offers wrist and lower arm protection and will make light work of pruning the roses or other prickily specimens in your garden!
Because of the protective yet supple leather, breathable cotton and double panels around the thumbs offering excellent finger and palm protection, your hands will feel flexible and comfortable at all times when gardening in our leather garden gloves.
Available in S/M and M/L – Ladies Gardening Gloves from Deckchairstripes
Going on holiday? Here at Deckchairstripes we have some fab stripes to take to the Beach. From Windbreaks to Beach Mats, Extra Large Beach Towels to Oilcloth lined Beach Bags and if you really want to be the envy of everyone take a look at our Beach Tents.
Sometimes we come across one-off individual and historic deckchairs which we are unable to sell on the website because they are unrepeatable and often very rare. We restore them (but not too much because the age is part of the charm) and will offer them here.
We are offering three rocking deckchairs from c. 1930 which are stamped ‘Castle Woodcrafts Helmsley (York)’. They are in excellent condition and very capacious with curving arms and fold easily for storage.
The workmanship and colour of the wood is beautiful. The chair pictured is covered in Shooting Deckchair canvas, but it may be covered in any of our stripes of your choice.
Price is £195.00 each

Welcome to Deckchairstripes blog which we have been attempting to construct since our site originally went live, but never had time. Now we are running like a well oiled machine, it will hopefully become a little easier to add some ramblings and bring you lots of ideas and inspiration – we welcome comments and exchange of ideas too!
Our Edwardian Style Garden Sun Shelters are available in 9 different glorious stripes. If you are looking for a truly original present for a wedding or special birthday gift then look no further! Originally used as garden sun shelters or canopies from the early 1900’s until the 1950’s – these faithful sun shelter replicas with folding beechwood frames for easy storage take only seconds to put up, giving protection on three sides and enough room for a table & two chairs.
They look stunning in the garden (see all our sun shelters) and are suitable for fine summery weather, giving protection from the sun and light breezes, but are not suitable for windy or adverse weather conditions as the sun shelter canopy is not waterproof.
The sun shelter includes cotton ties to secure the canopy to the frame and a row of matching jaunty bobble fringing along the front edge.
There is also a matching showerproof drawstring bag for the folded sun shelter when not in use.
Last week, the Chester Performs team met up with Deckchairstripes (now The Stripes Company) for fun in the park trying out all our lovely products.
Our company will be providing bunting, deckchairs, cushions and props for this year’s Grosvenor Park Open Air Theatre.
This season’s open air theatre productions are all about colourful costumes, jousts and japes – The Stripes Company are the perfect fit as we have been trading online at http://www.thestripescompany.com for four years and are local to Chester.
Along with upmarket deckchairs, retro sun shelters, cushions and fabrics – in fact all sorts of festive summer dressing – we are already no slouch at helping out theatres. The company’s fabrics have been used by the Royal Shakespeare Company, National Theatre and Shakespeare’s Globe.
Our traditional hardwood deckchairs will provide seating for VIP ticket holders, whilst the brightly coloured cushions will be made available for picnic terrace seating. There will also be plenty of bunting and Deckchairstripes’ unique beach tents will prove to be the perfect shelter for the on-site box office.
