Timeless Deckchairs, Stylish Deck Chairs – The Edwardian Deck Chair
Stylish Deck Chairs
Here at the Stripes Company we offer new Old Style Deck Chairs which we cover from ‘canopy’ top to ‘footstool’ toe in any of our wonderful deckchair fabrics. In addition we trim the canopies with pompoms from our range of bobble fringes, if desired.
The chairs are in the style of Edwardian deckchairs from days gone by
Antique Deck Chairs
However some of our enterprising customers restore and recover their own antique deck chairs. Furthermore, they buy the deckchair fabric from The Stripes Company and recover the chairs themselves.

A clever customer has used our fabric to make dog beds
We love showing you what customers make with our striped fabrics
Mary M told us that she found our ‘ideas blog” with examples of what people are making with our fabric and thought we might like to share her idea of making dog beds with fabric from the Stripes Company!.
She had made her daughter some curtains in our lovely fabric, then bought some more fabric to make dog beds for her two rescue greyhounds. She chose the fabric ‘Baseball’ as the colours of the fabric coordinate with her rug!
She told us the dog bed covers she made for the bean bags have worn so well and have washed beautifully.
There was a time when French and patio doors were seen as the height of exotic chic. They were once the home accessories of only the well to do. They would garner puzzled looks from people who couldn’t believe there was another entrance to the house apart from the front and back door. It was a bit like when you first encountered a video recorder for example as if it was a marvellous machine from another planet. You might think the same when you see our very stripy blinds for French doors.
Blinds for French Doors – pourquoi?
Now nearly everyone has French doors they don’t seem so exotic any more. They let light stream in and allow you to enjoy the splendour of the garden or patio throughout the day. But what about when it’s time to shut out the world? When the light begins to fade the choices are limited. Curtains are heavy and expensive, Venetian and roller blinds are clumsy and difficult to use in this location. The simplest system in our stripy view is vertical blinds for French doors.
Welcome to the Stripes Company A-Z where throughout the festive season we’ll be bringing the alphabet to you Stripes style! We’re dreaming of a Stripey Christmas and hope you’ll join us too! We see stripes everywhere and over the December period while seeing our A-Z we’re sure everything will become striped for you too!
Each week between the 1st & 24th Dec we will be posting something stripey that may be in picture, gif or text format. Plus we have a competition! Add your stripey ‘Z’ suggestion in the final week to win a fantastic prize, remember the crazier the better! Enjoy.
Each season PANTONE® creates a Fashion Color Report outlining the key colour trends – and the forecast for Spring 2016 at New York Fashion Week draws its inspiration from fashion.
Now although we at The Stripes Company occasionally flaunt the fact that we are able to take sartorial taste to a new level (please see Dan and Tilly in our previous post showing the versatility of stripes) it would take a brave soul to wear all these Pantone colours together
They may be better appreciated and enjoyed from a distance – perhaps as an accent – and we would encourage you to think laterally or vertically.
