Don’t Hold the Horses

The Stripes Company Postage and Delivery

the stripes company postage

During nearly 15 years of trading online, one of the trickiest challenges has been posting goods out to customers in a timely and efficient fashion.
When we began back in 2006, we used Royal Mail for all our small packages and mail. DPD, Hermes and Yodel did not exist, but Postman Pat is still a familiar figure in our towns and villages – and we continue to use this service to this day.

Now RM has a more efficient service called ‘Click and Drop’, which speeds up our systems when we pack and send out hundreds of packages per day, with tracking as standard, and the Postman may be relied upon not to make ‘dustbin’ deliveries.

Larger Parcels – Deckchairs, Windbreaks etc

For larger parcels ( and some of ours are REALLY large ) we now use FEDEX who are probably the largest and most dependable carrier globally.

We also use freight forwarders for more complicated shipments, together with pallet companies for bulkier orders. If you are ordering from overseas, our service is exemplary.

However, all this comes at a price, and even if we charge domestic customers for postage (which we don’t) customers would be shocked if they knew or had to pay the price we are charged by our carriers for a such highly honed service.

So we bear the cost of this for our customers – for non-mainland UK and overseas parcels we charge according to the carriers quoted prices.

Delivery Times at StripesCo

Our post is manifested and collected each day – we usually pack orders the day we receive them ( weekdays only) or the next day if we are very busy at peak times.

Special stitching orders and made to measure obviously takes a little bit longer and our expert stitchers are usually quick, but we can always prioritise for special requests – just add ‘Express Shipping’ to your basket when you order.

As a rule, we receive very few complaints from customers over delivery issues. We have a no quibble replacement policy – this is because we do not use the cheaper and less customer-friendly services.

Our goods and services speak for themselves, and we have many wonderful and loyal customers whose support we treasure.
